Don't forget lunch for the first day and your delicious home baking.

Year Six Camp - Equipment List

Name all of your gear and pack it in a soft type of bag - No suitcases.

Sleeping Gear

  • Sleeping bag or duvet. Please wrap in a double rubbish bag and tie with a belt or rope so that it will not get wet
  • Old sheet to cover the mattress
  • Pillowcase
  • Warm pyjamas
  • Dressing gown
  • Slippers
  • Favourite small cuddly companion. i.e. teddy

Clothing

Please bring old clothes. It will all be getting dirty and possibly torn.

  • Sun hat
  • Sunglasses
  • Underclothing. Polyprop clothing is good
  • Handkerchiefs/tissues
  • Warm jerseys/jumpers/sweatshirts
  • Shorts • Shirts/tee shirts
  • Trousers/track pants
  • A warm jacket
  • Togs
  • Two large towels
  • Eight pegs
  • A wetsuit is recommended

Toilet Gear

  • Sunblock
  • Insect repellent
  • Soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush, hairbrush
  • Medication, inhalers, etc

Footwear

  • Two pairs (One for water activities, one for the camp area)
  • Four pairs of socks

Stationery

  • Pens, pencils, and a pencil sharpener
  • Personal reading book

Kitchen

  • One hand towel
  • One tea towel

Do not bring the following

Electronic games, mobile phones, knives, radio/media player, lollies of any description


For the walk on day one, the children need the following:

  • A suitable back pack
  • Suitable footwear and socks
  • A water bottle filled with water only please
  • A packed lunch
  • A suitable hat that gives maximum protection
  • A beanie
  • A strong black rubbish bag
  • A light coat/waterproof jacket
  • A camera (optional)
  • Sun block
  • Personal first aid kit
  • Any required medication i.e. inhaler, Anti Biotics e.t.c

(note: if possible place the named tea-towel into the backpack also for easy collection when we arrive at camp)

If this can not be fitted into the back pack it may be packed with their other gear as there will be time to prepare for the tramp when we arrive at camp.
